Parenting Classes
LifeChoices has a wide range of parenting classes, and you are
sure to find one that fits your needs. They are offered at
various times and days, for your convenience. Attending
parenting classes is a way that you can learn valuable tools and
skills to use your in every day life; the parenting classes also
provide an opportunity for attendees to earn vouchers, which can
then be used to purchase diapers at LifeChoices. (Each
person who attends a parenting class earns two (2) vouchers per
class.)

Class Overview
Within My Reach:
A 15 session relationship
skills and decision-making program for helping individuals
achieve their goals in relationships, family, and marriage. The
three major themes of the program are building relationships,
maintaining relationships, and making relationship decisions.
Parenting with love and logic:
Teaches parent how to “put the fun back into parenting” by using
techniques developed by educator, speaker, writer, and parent
Jim Fay. The main idea is preparing children for the real world
(and saving parent’s sanity) by showing children empathy and
love but also allowing them to experience the natural
consequences of their actions. The techniques are useful for
parents of children from toddlers to teenagers.
Real Solution Parenting:
‘Real Solution Parenting’ is a facilitated discussion class
covering many topics including:

Basic Parenting 101:
Fetal development, Prenatal nutrition, Risky behaviors during
pregnancy (i.e. alcohol, and smoking ect), Recognizing preterm
labor, Body changes and ways to get more comfortable during
pregnancy, Bonding with the unborn child, SIDS, Shaken baby,
Bathing, holding and feeding of the infant, Recognizing illness
in the newborn, Home safety, Lifestyle changes of parents, Back
to sleep, Sleep issues during the first year, protecting your
child from abuse (specifically for teenage girls with boyfriends
who are not the father of the baby).

Parenting Essentials:
This is a 12 weeks class that covers 12 essentials that parents
need to provide for their child’s well being: Love, Security,
Acceptance, Respect, Communication, Time, Boundaries, Structure,
Belonging, Setting an Example, Crisis Management Skills, and
Purposeful Parenting.
