Karolyn Schrage (RN, BSN), spent 20 years as a medical
missionary in Kenya, Africa. While there, she was
instrumental in founding rural primary healthcare
clinics with an emphasis in women's health. Working with
the Pokot tribe, issues regarding female circumcision
and infant mortality were a constant health education
need. Karolyn was also involved in the formation of an
orphanage where she served as the head clinician for
over 40 children.
Networking with Good News Production
International, Africa, Karolyn and her husband, Mike
produced a broadcast quality movie regarding sanctity of
life and teenage promiscuity issues. This production is
currently being used in over ten African nations, with
culturally equivalent versions in six different
languages for use around the world.
In 2003, Karolyn and
her family moved back to the United States. Karolyn is
currently a nurse at LifeChoices in Joplin, MO, where
she serves as a member of the Intervention Services
Team, overseeing medical services which provide limited
ultrasounds, pregnancy verifications, medical referrals
and STI testing and treatment. Karolyn resides in Carl
Junction, MO with her husband and three children.
